Whoever thinks that simple and basic cannot be sophisticated and stylish has obviously never met our COTA-02 Coffee Table. The main structure consists of just five pieces of exquisitely finished wood. The uprights are ‘X- shaped and formed from two pieces each. These two are joined with invisible cross-halving joints. The two uprights are kept at the correct distance from each other – and upright – by the last of the five pieces. This appears to lie casually in the upper cleft of the ‘X’ but is invisibly and securely fastened to the two legs. Tiny, small diameter pegs protrude from the uppermost edges of each leg and support the 48 inch by 24 inch bevelled and tempered glass top which is 8mm thick for strength and safety. You could probably make a table of similar design from five sticks bound together by cord, but it is the high quality joinery work and exquisite finish that have tamed this design and brought it indoors to make it a true 21st Century masterpiece.
